and Judy Maloni (front)
This web site was originally created in 1999, at the University
of Wisconsin-Madison by Judy
Maloni, Phd, RN, FAAN and her team pictured above, Monica
Rondon (former Honors Undergraduate student), Lester Dore, Web
Master, and Jane Vandermeer (former Master's student). The web
team worked long and hard brain-storming on how to develop the
content for this Pregnancy Bed Rest Web Site. The site was created
to provide a support to women who are on bed rest and their
families. The site was also created for health care providers,
i.e. nurses and others, who want to learn more about pregnancy
bed rest so that they can help their patients. There is a wealth
of information for caregivers,
families, and researchers
interested in pregnancy bed rest. Many of the questions that
arise concerning this topic are addressed in the frequently
asked questions section of the web site. Judy Maloni always
tries to place emphasis on using research findings about bed
rest when answering questions. Their are also many online
resources, books, and
helpful information.
Since joining the faculty at the Frances Payne Bolton School
of Nursing, Judy Maloni, has continued to conduct research about
pregnancy bed rest and has updated the resources on this site
and has provided more evidence regarding why
bed rest works.
