DNP Conference Highlights
October 15-16, 2009

Most DNP students at the post-master's level are already practicing in roles as advanced practice nurses, administrators, or educators. Once you are admitted to the program, you have the opportunity to choose one of two elective sequences that will guide your path of your DNP education at FPB.

Educational Leadership Elective

The Educational Leadership concentration prepares doctoral-level nursing educators for clinical and academic settings. These electives provide you with the foundation of education, testing, evaluation, curriculum, and instruction and requires completion of a teaching practicum and research project or thesis. This curriculum utilizies an evidence-based approach in the education of nurses.

Practice Leadership Elective

The Practice Leadership concentration prepares doctoral-level clinicians or practitioners and includes core courses in research and health policy focused in organizational behavior, information management, and management in advanced practice. If you choose this concentration, you will prepare a business plan and have your choice of completing a project to develop and lead evidence-based practice.
