FPB gives you a choice of a dozen different MSN majors, plus subspecialties. From nurse midwifery to adult-gerontology nurse practitioner, from flight nursing to informatics, FPB has you covered.
If you are working as a nurse right now, FPB offers courses in nontraditional formats including intensive, web-based, and weekend courses so that you can remain at your current job. Several of our programs can even be completed in a semi-distance format with limited trips to campus, making our MSN program feasible for anyone.
Virtually all MSN students must take at least ten core courses in Professional Development, Scientific Inquiry, and Nursing Practice (for nurse practitioner majors). Although the MSN program itself requires a minimum of 36 credit hours to graduate, the majors require an average of 40 credit hours, usually completed between 18 and 24 months, though the nurse anesthesia program requires 28 months of study.
You'll also need to put in at least 500 clinical hours for most MSN majors; the anesthesia, midwifery, cardiovascular, and flight nursing programs require even more.
Click on the links below to read the details of each specialty area. Two sample, full-time plans of two of our most popular majors give an idea of the curriculum involved in completing an MSN. If you have any questions, our admissions advisors are available to help you understand the options within your areas of interest.
