WHO Collaborating Center in Home Care Nursing

WHO RESOURCES

What is a WHO Collaborating Center?

The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified a select number of organizations and institutions to provide technical expertise to the member countries and the WHO. The designation focuses on a specific topic area and WHO Collaborating Centers must apply for re-designation every four years. The WHO Collaborating Center at the Bolton School of Nursing focuses primarily on home care nursing, with a secondary emphasis on evidence-based practice. These areas are consistent with our strengths in both home care and evidence-based practice.

There are currently twelve WHO Collaborating Centers in Nursing in the United States and 37 in the world. Each has specific terms of reference or a focus area--examples include primary care, nursing education, health promotion, and nursing research.
