EMAIL AT CASE AND FPB
Email.
Your main mode of communication here at Case. Whether you are a student, staff or faculty, you will have a Case email account. And be expected to use it...often.
The first thing you must do is activate your Case UserID.
The second thing is to move your new account to Case Google Apps. (NOTE: New students are automatically moved). More info on Google Apps can be found on the Wiki.
What is my e-mail address?
The standard Case email address is as follows:
firstname.lastname@case.edu
However, some folks like to use their "UserID" address, which would be:
abc12@case.edu (abc12 being your UserID).
For information on alternate addresses, please refer to the Mail Alias section.
You may also use a Preferred First.Last in the event of a name change or nickname.
How do I access my E-mail?
The easiest way to start using your Case email is by using Case Webmail or Case Gmail (recommended).
Below is a list of other email-related issues:
Like your home or your office, email is much easier and more useful if it is organized. Folders, filters, moving, deleting...all of these things add up to a more organized email environment.
To help explain how to organize email and where to begin, we have created a PowerPoint presentation that you may download and print for your reference.
Click here to open/download the presentation.
NOTE: To view without saving, choose 'open'. To save the presentation for printing, right click and choose 'save target as'.
If you are going to be away from the office or your email for a period of time, and would like to notify those who send you email while you are away, you may enable the vacation response.
