| We don't really have a name for our project. We are going to try to reduce the waiting time for immunizations e.g the time from when the MD leaves the exam room and the time the RN comes in to give the shot. We hope that this will lead to improved patient satisfaction as well as speeding up the flow to free exam rooms. We're presently working with IS to have a Smart Phrase in EPIC in which the MD can note the time he leaves the room and the RN can note the time she is finished with the patient. The difference will be our measurement. We're also going to note the time the order is written, however we are not sure at this point whether this will be useful. At our next meeting we will be looking at interventions. We would like to get started collecting some times, but this will depend on how quickly EPIC is set up. We may start doing it manually. |
